Nowadays, people rarely use this type of knife. It would help if you took extra precautions while cleaning this knife as it is prone to rust. The blade of this knife is made of carbon-based steel. It does nothing to prevent corrosion. 

To clean this type of knife, you need to rinse it after every use and wipe it dry. In order to prevent rust, you need to avoid too much exposure to water and air. You need to avoid using soap to clean it. The best way to clean it is by using a wet sponge and cleaning both sides of the blade. 

After that, immediately use a dry cloth and thoroughly wipe it. Don’t let a single drop of water remain on the blade. After you clean it, store it in a dry drawer.
